From Stanhope Vets…PET FOOD BANK NOW OPEN

Do you know someone struggling with the cost of living crisis? Are they thinking of rehoming a much loved family pet due to worries with food costs?

We now have a Pet food bank where those in need can come and collect some food to help them feed their pet - whether that’s a cat, dog, rabbit or guinea pig!

Darlington Hippodrome

The Hippo Lounge will offer free tea, coffee and biscuits between 10am and mid-day every Monday and Tuesday from January to provide a free, safe, warm, and welcoming space for all.

Home Upgrade Grant (HUG)

Tees Valley Combined Authority (TVCA), in partnership with Stockton, Middlesbrough, Darlington and Redcar and Cleveland Local Authorities, has secured more than £2 million of funding to upgrade the energy efficiency of homes across our local community – and we’re reaching out to see if YOU could benefit. With a selection of funding options, including wall and loft insulation, solar thermal and PV panels, air source heat pumps, double glazing and replacement electric storage heaters there is an energy saving investment for every property and home - from modern spaces to period properties full of character.

The funding is designed to make it easier for you to benefit from energy efficient upgrades, empowering our local community to do what we can for ourselves, our neighbours, and our planet. To be eligible for funding, you need to tick the following boxes:

  • YOUR HOME MUST BE “OFF GAS” – THAT IS YOU MUST USE OIL, SOLID FUEL, LPG OR ELECTRICITY TO HEAT YOUR HOME.
  • YOUR TOTAL ANNUAL HOUSEHOLD INCOME MUST BE LESS THAN £30,000.
  • YOUR PROPERTY MUST HAVE AN EPC RATING BETWEEN D AND G.
  • YOU MUST LIVE IN ONE OF THE FOLLOWING AREAS – STOCKTON, DARLINGTON, MIDDLESBROUGH, AND REDCAR & CLEVELAND
