We are looking for a versatile, enthusiastic person to join the DAD team as a Co-Production Project Officer to recruit and support volunteer ‘experts’ to obtain their views, experience and their vision on volunteering in Darlington.

Volunteering for Health is a £10m programme that is being delivered in partnership by NHS England, NHS Charities Together and CW+, the official charity of Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

It is being designed to deliver the recommendations of the NHS Volunteering Taskforce published in June 2023. It will deliver grant funding to around 15 local systems to develop robust volunteering infrastructure, break down barriers and test new volunteering.

Volunteering for Health will also use learning from grant-funded systems to increase understanding of the impact of volunteering on healthcare delivery, influence national and local policy making, and develop guidance and best practice for all systems.

DAD is part of a local partnership working alongside Citizens Advice Darlington and Redcar Cleveland and St Theresas Hospice to deliver this project locally.

We are seeking two forward-thinking, driven, and passionate Strategic Development Managers to help shape our future and expand our impact.

Grade / Salary:            £30,000 per annum pro rata

Hours:                          30 - 37 hours per week (to be agreed)

About the Role

As a Strategic Development Manager, you will:
✅ Drive Growth & Innovation – Develop new initiatives, strengthen existing projects, and explore opportunities to enhance our reach and effectiveness.
✅ Promote Inclusion & Influence Change – Work with disabled people to ensure our work remains relevant, impactful, and aligned with our values.
✅ Build Strong Partnerships – Develop relationships with stakeholders, community groups, and decision-makers to amplify our work.
✅ Strengthen Our Organisation – Improve internal processes, explore sustainable development strategies, and support our teams in achieving long-term goals.

DAD is currently developing or strengthening key areas of our work including;

  • Access
  • Co Production
  • Access to travel and transport
  • Volunteering

You will begin by taking key responsibility for these areas, with support from an experienced management team, with opportunities to learn and develop.
